How we handle recordings from our robots and the details you give us, under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Recordings from our robots
- What is recorded
- Video of the street around the robot while it drives and while it waits at a stop, so it can drive and so incidents can be looked into
- Blurred
- Faces and number plates, before recordings leave the robot
- Sound
- Never uploaded, unless someone at the robot asks us for help
- Kept for
- 90 days, then deleted. A recording linked to a reported incident or a legal claim is kept until that is closed
- Who can see it
- Our operations and safety staff, for a stated reason. Every view is logged
- Shared with
- The police or a court when the law requires it. Never sold, and never used for advertising
Your details
- Delivery details
- Name, phone number and delivery address, from the business you ordered from, used only for that delivery
- Collection
- When and at which robot you collected, to confirm the handover
- Messages to us
- What you send through the contact form, to answer you
- Kept for
- Only as long as needed for the delivery or to answer and close your message, then deleted
Cookies
This website uses no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics. Your browser may keep copies of our pages and files so they load faster.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it (for example a recording linked to an open incident). You can object to how we process your information. Ask through the contact form, choosing "Privacy request". We confirm who you are and answer within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.
